Tap your Nol Card on the reader when boarding (you'll hear a beep and see green light) and tap again when exiting. This calculates your fare based on distance. Forgetting to tap out charges maximum fare. Buy and top up Nol Cards at metro stations and RTA centers.
Yes, but drivers don't give change! If your fare is AED 3 and you give AED 5, you lose AED 2. Most people use Nol Cards for convenience and exact fares. Credit/debit cards are NOT accepted on buses.
Most buses run 5:00 AM to midnight. Some routes operate 24/7, especially connecting Dubai Marina, Downtown, and Deira. Night routes (N-series) are designed for late-night travel. Check the RTA app for specific route hours.
Look for green and white RTA signs showing stop numbers and bus routes. Use the RTA Dubai app or Google Maps for directions - they show nearest stops, which buses to take, and arrival times. Our route planner can also help!
Absolutely! Buses are very safe with CCTV cameras and professionally trained drivers. There are priority seats for elderly, disabled, and parents with children. Some buses have designated ladies and children sections at the front.
